Who is this for?

This Morrisby session is for High School students, years 9 – 12 (and their supportive parents, guardians and carers).

The aim is to explore opportunities and gain an understanding of how to use the information in the profile independently, so you can build the autonomy you need to support future decision-making and to navigate change.

You can use the profile to access detailed information about study pathways, including vocational pathways and apprenticeships, as well as higher education. The full state-by-state Australian curriculum is loaded into the profile to support high school students in exploring subject selection that supports their skills and interests.

The Morrisby profile is aligned with each state’s curriculum and is great to kickstart career exploration. You will be able to look at study options, both academic and vocational, and see suggested pathways and skills that are relevant to that career.

What is involved?

Participants will be asked to complete approximately 100 minutes of timed assessments and questionnaires.

These are best to be taken on a device with a decent screen size (ie laptop/pc or large tablet, not a mobile phone) under relaxed, distraction-free conditions – this is not an intelligence test, and there is no need to revise. The participant is given practice questions at the start of each session, and a timer shows how much time is left as sections are worked through.

The Unpacking session

I will take participants through their profile in a 45-minute unpacking session. This session aims to build confidence in navigating the information on the platform independently and to make full use of the profile, including some of the more advanced features that students are not shown when using the profile at school.

This is followed up with a 30-minute debrief with a parent or guardian. This has tended to work better for online sessions than for parents sitting in. Young people also have the option to provide parents and guardians access to their profile.

Unpacking sessions are available outside of school hours, most nights M-F and some Saturday afternoons, and can be online or in-person (at the South Melbourne studio).
